Mastodon 4.5 adds quote states to the API and enables RFC 9421 signatures
What changed
Mastodon 4.5.0 was released on November 6, 2025. The changelog lists new quote states (blocked_account, blocked_domain, muted_account) on the Quote and ShallowQuote entities, unconditional RFC 9421 HTTP signatures, removal of PostgreSQL 13 support, and a default visualizer for audio uploads without a poster image.
