What changed

The April 2026 release notes (version 202604) add integration requirements pages for ten LinkedIn Marketing API programs: Community Management, Event Management, Conversions API, Reporting, Advertising, Audience Insights, Media Planning, Company Intelligence, Matched Audiences and Lead Sync. LinkedIn says the requirements must be met by organizations pursuing partner certification. The Community Management page describes a Technical Sign Off process that LinkedIn is rolling out, with a demo of every listed capability.

What it means

Partners seeking LinkedIn partner certification now have written lists of the capabilities they must build and demo, per API program, including posting, comments, analytics, token handling and webhooks for Community Management.

Who is affected

Scheduling and social media management tools that are, or want to become, certified LinkedIn Marketing partners. Apps that only use self-serve access are not named.

What to do by Apr 2026

If you pursue certification, map your product against the requirements page for each API you use and plan the missing features before asking for Technical Sign Off.

What this means for you

LinkedIn now writes down exactly what a posting or analytics tool must be able to do before LinkedIn calls it a certified partner. For posting tools, that list covers things like connecting your account safely, publishing Page posts, showing comments and showing your Page's numbers. Nothing changes for you directly, but a certified tool has shown LinkedIn that it does all of this.

The details

  • Pages added (version 202604): Community Management, Event Management, Conversions API, Reporting, Advertising, Audience Insights, Media Planning, Company Intelligence, Matched Audiences and Lead Sync.
  • Who must comply: organizations pursuing LinkedIn partner certification. The release notes do not say the lists apply to apps using self-serve access only.
  • Process (Community Management page): LinkedIn is rolling out a Technical Sign Off. When you are close to done, you request it through your LinkedIn Business Development contact, then demo every capability. LinkedIn can ask for changes before signing off.
  • Community Management requirements, in groups:
    • Basics: OAuth 2.0 with the right scopes, a periodic token check against /me, detecting expired access and refresh tokens, re-running OAuth, minting tokens from refresh tokens.
    • Organization administration: list administered organizations, read organization details and logo, follow the data storage requirements, read access control.
    • Organic Page posts: read all posts and posts by id for every media category, create posts in at least two media categories (TEXT, ARTICLE, IMAGE, RICH, VIDEO, CAROUSEL), target organic posts, read likes, comments and nested comments, and mentions.
    • Reporting: follower count, follower, page, share and video statistics.
    • Updates: pull with configurable intervals and outage recovery, and push webhooks for Pages, Events and mentions, including de-registering on unsubscribe.

What to do next

  • Business owners: Nothing.
  • Marketers and agencies: When choosing a LinkedIn tool, you can ask whether it has passed LinkedIn's Technical Sign Off.
  • Developers: If you want certification, treat the Community Management list as your backlog and make sure token expiry and webhook recovery are handled before the demo.
