Policy LinkedIn Severity: low

LinkedIn moves developer support to a request form and lets apps reapply for API access

AnnouncedMay 2026
Effective15 May 2026
StatusIn effect

What changed

The May 2026 release notes (version 202605) say that from May 15, 2026 the Developer Support Request Form is the primary way to reach LinkedIn Developer Support, and that the Zendesk path will sunset; the June 2026 notes (version 202606) set that sunset for June 30. The May notes also add a Reapply button in the Developer Portal: API access requests expire after 21 days, and those or requests declined for insufficient details can be resubmitted from the original form, which creates a new case.

What it means

Since May 15, 2026, LinkedIn developer support runs through the Developer Support Request Form, and the Zendesk path ended on June 30. Expired or declined API product requests can now be resubmitted from the Developer Portal.

Who is affected

Developers of LinkedIn integrations who apply for API products or contact LinkedIn developer support.

What to do by 15 May 2026

Send new support cases through the Developer Support Request Form, and use the Reapply button for expired or declined access requests instead of creating a new app.

What this means for you

App makers who need help from LinkedIn now fill in one online form instead of using the old help desk, which closed at the end of June 2026. And if LinkedIn ran out of time on an app's request for access, or said no because details were missing, the app maker can now press Reapply. None of this changes how you post.

The details

  • Support path: from May 15, 2026 (version 202605 notes), the Developer Support Request Form is the primary channel. The June 2026 notes (version 202606) say the Zendesk support path sunsets on June 30. The form itself is on linkedin.com, which we don't read automatically.
  • Reapply: in the Developer Portal, a Reapply button replaces "Access denied" for API product requests that expired (requests expire after 21 days) or were declined for insufficient details. It reloads the original form for edits and opens a new case. You no longer need a new app or a support ticket.
  • Not covered: the notes do not say whether other declined requests can be resubmitted.

What to do next

  • Business owners: Nothing.
  • Marketers and agencies: Nothing.
  • Developers: Update internal runbooks to the new support form, and reapply from the portal if an access request stalled past 21 days.
