LinkedIn Marketing API version sunset calendar: every version and its end date

AnnouncedOct 2026

PlatformLinkedIn

What changed

LinkedIn releases a new Marketing API version every month and supports each for at least one year. Its Migrations page lists the sunset date of every version. As of the October 2026 release (version 202610), the oldest active version is 202511 (sunset November 16, 2026) and the newest is 202610 (sunset October 15, 2027). There is no 202412 or 202512: the release notes skip December in 2024 and 2025. This entry collects all sunsets from January 2024 on; the effective date is not stated because it covers many dates, one per version.

What it means

Every monthly LinkedIn Marketing API version stops working on a fixed sunset date, about a year after release. Calls that send a sunset Linkedin-Version header fail, including Posts, Images, Videos and analytics calls.

Who is affected

Every scheduler, analytics and publishing tool that calls LinkedIn's versioned /rest APIs, which is every current LinkedIn posting integration.

What to do

Find the Linkedin-Version value your integration sends, look up its sunset date below, and move to a newer version well before that date. Plan one upgrade at least once a year.

What this means for you

Apps talk to LinkedIn using a "version" named after a month, like 202610 for October 2026. Each version only works for about a year. After its end date, the app's posts and reports to LinkedIn stop working until the app maker updates it. This page lists every version and the day it ends, so you can see when a tool you rely on has to update.

The details

How it works. Every call to https://api.linkedin.com/rest/ carries a Linkedin-Version: YYYYMM header. LinkedIn publishes a version each month and supports it for a minimum of one year. There is no default: an unversioned call is not upgraded to the latest version. A call with a sunset version is rejected; LinkedIn's error handling page describes HTTP 426 (version header is deprecated) for this case.

There is no 202412 (no December 2024 release).

Where the two LinkedIn pages disagree. Dates above come from the Migrations table. The monthly release notes give slightly different dates in a few places:

  • 202305: the February to April 2024 release notes say May 15, 2024; the Migrations table says June 17, 2024.
  • 202402: the January 2025 release notes say February 17, 2025; the Migrations table says February 18, 2025.
  • 202312: listed in the October and November 2024 release notes (December 16, 2024) but missing from the Migrations table.
  • 202401, 202407 and 202408: earlier release notes gave January 15, July 15 and August 15, 2025; later ones were corrected to match the Migrations table.

All of these dates are past, so they no longer change anything, but they show why it pays to migrate early rather than on the last day.

What to do next

  • Business owners: If LinkedIn posting suddenly fails in a tool around one of these dates, ask the tool's support whether it updated its LinkedIn API version.
  • Marketers and agencies: Note the next sunset date (November 16, 2026 for 202511) and check your scheduled LinkedIn posts publish on the days after it.
  • Developers: Log the Linkedin-Version you send, set a reminder two months before its sunset, and read the release notes between your version and the latest for breaking changes.
