Scheduling and API changes, week of October 26, 2026

A quiet week for publishing APIs: no new limits or sunsets from the platforms we watch. The deadline to act on is LinkedIn's version 202511 sunset on November 16.

Between Monday October 26 and Sunday November 1, 2026, no platform we watch announced a change to how posts are published or scheduled. The one date to act on is LinkedIn's version 202511 sunset on November 16.

What this means for you

If you schedule posts with a tool, nothing you rely on changed last week. Your scheduled posts should keep going out as before. The only job on the list is for the people who build LinkedIn tools: they have two weeks to update an old setting before LinkedIn switches it off.

The details

New in our changelog. Our API changelog now holds over 120 entries, each tied to the platform's own changelog or docs. Most were added on October 26 and cover changes from earlier months, so they are not listed here as last week's news.

Checked and left out, because they don't touch publishing:

  • X, October 26: clearer error details when a Direct Message is refused. Same HTTP 403 status, so apps that only check the status code are unaffected.
  • X, October 29: a Conversion API for app events in the X Ads API.
  • Mastodon, October 29: version 4.7.4, a maintenance release with no change to posting or scheduled statuses in its changelog.

Price and plan changes. None recorded last week.

The change that matters most: LinkedIn Marketing API version 202511 sunsets on November 16, 2026. After that date, calls that send Linkedin-Version: 202511 return an error, and version 202601 follows on January 15, 2027. Platform news from today is in LinkedIn opens post boosting to third-party apps.

What to do this week

  • Business owners: Nothing.
  • Marketers and agencies: Nothing, unless a LinkedIn post fails to publish after November 16: then tell your tool's support.
  • Developers: Search your code for Linkedin-Version: 202511 and move to a current version before November 16.
