Best for

Artists and hobbyists who post art and status updates to art communities, Bluesky and Mastodon from a free desktop app.

Skip it if

You need Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn or TikTok. PostyBirb's FAQ states Facebook and Instagram are not supported, and it is a desktop app, so scheduled posts need your computer to be on.

Overview

PostyBirb is a desktop application for posting art and other multimedia to many websites at once. The homepage says you fill out submission details once and it applies them across sites, so you avoid repeating the same forms. Besides multimedia it can post journal entries and status updates, and it can schedule submissions ahead of time.

The site list is the interesting part. It names 30 websites, mostly art and creator communities: DeviantArt, Pixiv, Tumblr, Patreon, Discord, Telegram, Weasyl and others. Of the networks this site tracks, only X, Bluesky and Mastodon are there. The FAQ states that Facebook and Instagram are not supported.

Because it runs on your computer, scheduled posts depend on that computer being on. The FAQ mentions scheduled posting issues on Windows when the computer sleeps. The site presents the app as completely free and asks for donations. It does not state whether the code is open source, so I won't claim it, and I found no API or AI features on the pages I read.

What it does well

  • Fill in a submission once and post to many sites.
  • It supports art communities that business schedulers skip.
  • The homepage says it is free, with donations requested.
  • Journals and status updates are supported alongside media.

What to watch out for

  • Scheduling works only while the computer is on.
  • The FAQ mentions scheduled posting issues on Windows when the computer sleeps.
  • Facebook and Instagram are not supported.
  • No LinkedIn or TikTok is listed among the networks tracked here.

Free plan: Site says it is provided completely free and asks for donations

There is no ladder. The site says the app is provided completely free and asks for donations, so the price to start is $0. No seats, channels or usage tiers appear on the pages I read. The real cost is operational: the machine has to stay on for scheduled posts to go out, and Windows sleep can interfere per the FAQ. That is a hardware and habit cost, not a billing one, and the pages do not describe any paid tier to grow into.
