Instagram v1.0 API deprecated, about 30 legacy endpoints
What changed
Meta announced on January 21, 2025 that the Instagram v1.0 API is deprecated, affecting roughly 30 endpoints. The effective date is not stated consistently: the v22.0 changelog lists the all-versions cutoff as both April 21, 2025 and May 20, 2025, so no single effective date is given here.
What it means
Legacy Instagram endpoints for users, media, comments, carousels, Pages, business assets and ad accounts stop working.
Who is affected
Developers whose integrations still call the older Instagram endpoints.
What to do
Migrate to the Instagram Platform endpoints (IG User, IG Media, IG Media Children, IG Comment, IG Comment Replies).
