How to schedule Pinterest Pins (and the 10-Pin limit)
Pinterest business accounts can schedule standard Pins up to 30 days ahead, but only 10 at a time. Step by step, what you can change, and what schedulers can do.
The short version
With a business account, Pinterest schedules standard Pins up to 30 days ahead, on desktop or in the app. The catch is that you can only have 10 Pins scheduled at once. If you plan a month of Pins, you need a scheduler.
Schedule a Pin on desktop
- Click Create, then Create Pin.
- Add your image or video, title, description, link and board.
- Choose Publish at a later date, pick a date up to 30 days away, and schedule.
You can select up to 10 images at once on desktop, and each becomes its own Pin.
Schedule a Pin in the app
Tap +, choose Pin, build it, then use Schedule date and Schedule. Combining several images and videos into one video Pin only works in the app.
Change or delete a scheduled Pin
Scheduled Pins sit on your profile above your published Pins. They can take a few minutes to appear. You can change the date, title, board, description and link, but not the image or video. To delete one, open the ellipsis menu on the scheduled Pin and choose Delete.
What schedulers can do through the API
- No scheduling in the API. Creating a Pin publishes it, so the tool stores the Pin and posts it at your time. That also means schedulers aren't bound by the 10-Pin limit.
- Trial access is sandboxed. Pins created by an app on trial access are visible only to their creator. A scheduler needs Pinterest's standard access to post for real.
- Rate limits: trial apps get 300 write requests a day, and standard access allows 100 a minute per user.
Pin sizes are on the Pinterest hub, along with the schedulers that publish Pins.
