The short version

Facebook Pages schedule posts for free in Meta Business Suite, from 20 minutes to 29 days ahead. You need Facebook access or Task access to the Page. Everything you schedule shows up in the Planner, where you can change or cancel it.

Schedule a Page post on desktop

  1. Open Meta Business Suite from your Page's left menu.
  2. Click Create post and add your text and media.
  3. Under the scheduling options, turn on Set date and time.
  4. Pick a date and time between 20 minutes and 29 days away, then schedule.

Business Suite may show an Active times panel that suggests when your audience is online.

Schedule from your phone

In the Meta Business Suite app, create a post or story, choose Schedule for later and pick a date and time. You can publish to a Facebook Page, an Instagram account or both. Meta notes that posts that include Instagram must include media.

Change or cancel a scheduled post

Open Planner in Meta Business Suite (Week or Month view), click the post, then Options. From there you can edit, duplicate, reschedule, move it to drafts (which cancels the scheduled time) or delete it.

What schedulers can do through the API

If you use a third-party tool, these Meta rules shape what it can offer:

ContentScheduling through the API
Page feed postsYes, 10 minutes to 30 days ahead
Page reelsYes, more than 10 minutes and within 29 days ahead, up to 30 API reels per Page in 24 hours
Page storiesNo scheduling parameter: the tool publishes at the chosen time itself

That's why some tools handle stories differently from posts. If stories matter to you, check that a tool supports them before you pay. The Facebook hub lists which schedulers publish to Facebook, and the image and video sizes Meta documents.

Questions people ask

Between 20 minutes and 29 days ahead, according to Facebook's Help Center. The time uses your current time zone.

Can I schedule a post on my personal Facebook profile?

Facebook's scheduling help covers Pages, through Meta Business Suite. It does not describe scheduling for personal profiles.

Can a scheduler post Facebook Stories for me?

Meta's Page Stories API has no scheduling option: a story publishes when the tool makes the call. A scheduler can still hold the story and publish it at your chosen time.
