How to schedule TikTok videos (and what tools can do)

The short version

TikTok has a built-in video scheduler on the web, but its limits are only documented in an undated TikTok business blog post. Third-party schedulers can't schedule inside TikTok at all: TikTok's API has no scheduling field, so the tool stores your video and publishes it at the chosen time.

What TikTok says about its own scheduler

TikTok's Video Scheduler post on its business blog says:

• creators and Business Accounts can schedule 15 minutes to 10 days ahead, from the upload page on tiktok.com;
• desktop scheduling needs a Business Account;
• once scheduled, you can't edit the video, caption or time: delete it and upload it again;
• scheduled posts appear in your profile next to drafts.

We couldn't find a current TikTok help page that confirms these limits. Other guides quote 10 or 30 days. If your upload page shows a scheduling option, its own date picker is the real limit for your account.

TikTok Shop is separate. For US TikTok Shop creators, TikTok documents scheduling shoppable videos from 30 minutes to 30 days ahead, up to 50 scheduled videos per account.

How third-party schedulers post to TikTok

• No scheduling in the API. The Content Posting API publishes as soon as it is called, so the tool has to wait and post at your time.
• Audit or private only. Content from apps TikTok hasn't audited is restricted to private viewing, and such apps can let at most 5 users post in a 24-hour window.
• Daily cap. TikTok limits API posts per creator account, typically around 15 a day across all tools, and 6 post requests per minute per user token.
• Consent rules. The tool must show your account name, make you choose who can see the post (with no preselected option) and leave comments, Duet and Stitch off until you turn them on.
